The Printmaking Process
The process of creating a handmade print starts with a drawing that is transferred into a lino block, then carved, inked with non-toxic professional-grade printmaking inks and then pressed either by hand or with one of the Studio’s printing presses.

The Studio
Prussian Green Studio
The Studio pulls linocut and intaglio prints by hand, or by using one of our three printing presses: a small Dutch intaglio printing press, a bigger custom-built Canadian-American captain wheel’s printing press & an antique book binding press.
The art designs for the linocut and intaglio prints are based on the artwork by Larina Mietzker, created in our Ontario, Canada-based studio.
The Prussian Green Studio sells original artwork on Etsy.

Atelier Vert de Prusse
L’atelier réalise des impressions en linogravure et en taille-douce à la main ou à l'aide de l'une de nos trois presses d'impression : une petite presse d'impression en taille-douce hollandaise, une plus grande presse d'impression à roue de capitaine canado-américaine construite sur mesure et une presse à relier les livres d'époque.
Les dessins des linogravures et des gravures en taille-douce sont basés sur les œuvres d'art de Larina Mietzker, créées dans notre studio situé dans l'Ontario, au Canada.
L’Atelier Vert de Prusse vend des œuvres d'art originales sur Etsy sous le nom Prussian Green Studio.
The Studio’s Name
Why did I name the studio after the colour Prussian green?
I wanted the studio’s name to be an homage to my grandmother’s favourite colour, someone who always encouraged my creativity.
The colour Prussian green is made when Prussian blue is mixed with gold and/or a golden yellow, giving it a very interesting depth.
Le nom de l’Atelier
pourquoi ai-je donné à l’atelier le nom de la couleur vert de prusse?
Je voulais que le nom de l’atelier soit un hommage à la couleur préférée de ma grand-mère qui a toujours encouragé ma créativité.
La couleur vert de Prusse est obtenue en mélangeant le bleu de Prusse avec de l’or et/ou un jaune doré, ce qui lui donne une profondeur très intéressante.
